Manx Rainforest
Temperate rainforests are globally rare. They grow in cool, wet, humid places with low temperature variation and have exceptionally high biodiversity. Large parts of the British Isles and the Isle of Man were once covered in temperate rainforest. Today, it is estimated that only 1% remains, and even less on the Isle of Man. The Manx Rainforest Project is Manx Wildlife Trust’s landscape-scale initiative to restore temperate rainforest habitat across the Isle of Man.
