Green Social Prescribing
What is Green Social Prescribing?
Green Social Prescribing helps people improve their health and wellbeing through structured nature-based activities. Activities are designed to help people connect with nature, other people and their local community in supportive and welcoming outdoor settings.
Manx Wildlife Trust's Green Social Prescribing is delivered in partnership with Public Health, and prescribed by healthcare professionals.
Why Nature?
Research suggests that spending time in nature can support mental, physical and social wellbeing. Nature-based activities have been associated with reduced stress, improved wellbeing, increased confidence, stronger social connections and a greater sense of purpose. Green Social Prescribing combines these benefits with opportunities for gentle activity, learning and meaningful participation.
