About the event

From colourful waxcaps to curious little mushrooms hidden among the grasses, we’ll learn how to spot, identify and appreciate the fungi that thrive in our grassland habitats.

We will be guided by Nev Kilkenny, a visiting Scottish fungus expert who has a long connection with the island and the Isle of Man Fungus Group.

Waxcap grasslands are a globally scarce habitat, occurring only in the NW of Europe, and this is one of the Island’s top 5 sites for this special habitat.

Whether you’re a keen fungi enthusiast or simply curious to learn more about the natural world around you, come along and discover what’s growing beneath your feet!
