Volunteer Privacy Notice
Manx Wildlife Trust (Registered Charity No. 225, Isle of Man) is committed to protecting your personal information.
The information you provide when registering as a volunteer will be used to manage your volunteering with Manx Wildlife Trust (MWT). This may include contacting you about volunteering opportunities, coordinating activities, ensuring appropriate supervision and support, and meeting health, safety and safeguarding responsibilities.
Your information will only be used for purposes related to your volunteering with MWT and will be accessible only to authorised staff or volunteer coordinators. We do not sell or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.
Your data will be stored securely and retained only for as long as necessary to manage your volunteering relationship with MWT and to meet any legal or administrative requirements.
You have the right to request access to the personal information we hold about you, or to ask for it to be corrected or deleted where appropriate.

MWT Data Protection Policy
Manx Wildlife Trust (MWT) has processes in place to ensure that your data is handled in compliance with the General Date Protection Regulations (GDPR). This covers 6 Principles:
LAWFULNESS, FAIRNESS AND TRANSPARENCY
We ask for your personal data for the legitimate interest of being able to manage your membership, volunteering, employment or other relationship with MWT.
We ask for your consent to allow us to keep you up to date with events and other MWT activities in which you may be interested including fundraising and volunteering.
We do not disclose your data to Third Parties.
PURPOSE LIMITATION
We collect your data for explicit and legitimate purposes in relation to your specific involvement with MWT, for example, as a member, volunteer, employee or contractor.
DATA MINIMISATION
We only collect personal data which is adequate, relevant and limited to what is necessary to the purposes for which they are processed.
ACCURACY
We strive to ensure that your personal data is accurate and up to date. Please help us to achieve this by notifying us of any changes in your personal details.
STORAGE LIMITATION
Data will be kept only for as long as you are a member, volunteer or employee of MWT or for as long as you have another relationship with MWT, for example, a contractor.
INTEGRITY AND CONFIDENTIALITY
We process data in ways that ensure its security including protection against unauthorised or unlawful processing and against accidental loss, destruction or damage. Your data is held securely on our Password Protected IT systems. Access to it is limited to the staff and/or volunteers who have specific responsibilities for managing the data and using it for legitimate or consented purposes.
If you have any queries about your personal data held by MWT, please contact Steven Wright on 844432 or enquiries@mwt.im. Any unresolved issues will be raised with MWT’s CEO and you have the right to raise any concerns with the Island’s Information Commissioner. Any identified data breach likely to be a risk to an individual or MWT will be referred to the Information Commissioner within 72 hours of its discovery.
