Manx Wildlife Trust are the new MSC Seasearch coordinators for the Isle of Man

We are thrilled to announce that MWT are the new Seasearch coordinators with the Marine Conservation Society (MSC) for the Isle of Man, with MWT Marine Officer, Dr Lara Howe, taking on the role.

Seasearch is a MCS project that encourages volunteer scuba divers and snorkellers to record and report the species and habitats they see whilst they are out enjoying the marine environment, something we have lots of around the Island!

We are taking over the reins from Tony Glen, the previous coordinator, who has done a wonderful job, and we thank him for all he has done for Seasearch on the IOM.

Lara said 'I'm looking forward to getting stuck into the role and will be getting in touch with all Manx Seasearchers soon to get the ball rolling.' This will be as soon as restrictions allow and will hopefully be the start of a great year for divers and snorkelers, with the added challenge of recording and identifying the marine species around our coast.

If you are interested in becoming a 'Seasearcher' please contact Lara on email lara@mwt.im or check out the Seasearchers website for more information - http://seasearch.org.uk/
