Manx Nature Alliance exists to bring together wildlife conservation organisations and independent ecological experts to drive strategic action on urgent environmental issues and hold decision-makers to account in protecting the Isle of Man’s natural habitats and species.

In this newly created role, Naomi will coordinate the work of Manx Nature Alliance’s ecological team, support communication and collaboration between its members – Manx Wildlife Trust, Isle of Man Fungus Group, Manx Bird Life, and Manx Bat Group. Naomi will focus on the urgent strategic issues impacting Manx nature.

Independent ecologist Dr Philippa Tomlinson said ‘We are very pleased to welcome Naomi to strengthen our team. We are concerned about the very slow progress of the government in protecting important areas of habitat. We are worried about the increase in invasive species, which upsets the delicate balance of nature.

We stress the urgent need to review and modernise existing wildlife legislation. We urge the government to deliver on its legal commitments to biodiversity. Naomi is Manx and has a deep love of the Island, its natural environment and heritage. She has a strong background in policy and legislation, as former Climate Change Policy Manager for DEFA. In 2025, she left
the public sector to co-found a local sustainability consultancy aimed at supporting Manx businesses.
