Amy Howse is a sound artist whose work explores the relationships between people, place, and the natural world. As the Manx Wildlife Trust’s Biosphere Artist in Residence, her residency projects use immersive sound experiences that inspire reflection, connection, and a deeper appreciation of our Biosphere; through collaboration with conservationists, our Island community, and professional audio-visual teams to explore and interpret the Island’s Biosphere status through the lens of sound, using listening as a pathway to a deeper connection with nature.
The Biosphere Artist Residency is a Manx Wildlife Trust initiative supported by UNESCO Biosphere and The Isle of Man Arts Council. It was created to celebrate the Isle of Man’s status as a UNESCO Biosphere, the only entire nation in the world to hold this designation. The residency supports artists in exploring themes of sustainability, biodiversity, and cultural heritage through art, helping to inspire community engagement.
