Nature Finance Officer (12-month fixed term)
Salary: Band G £32,972 – Band I £36,708 (dependent on experience)
Location: Hybrid working, with regular travel between the Isle of Man and UK
Do you want to help shape the future of nature finance in the Isle of Man – the world’s only whole-nation UNESCO Biosphere Reserve?
Manx Wildlife Trust is recruiting a Nature Finance Officer to lead a pioneering one-year project exploring how to build high-integrity nature markets in the Island. This is an exciting opportunity to:
Deliver a feasibility study into nature finance and ecosystem service markets.
Develop a Manx Carbon Code, tailored to the Island’s unique ecosystems.
Establish a transparent carbon credit registry to support credible, nature-based projects.
You’ll work closely with Manx Wildlife Trust, the Royal Society of Wildlife Trusts (RSWT), Isle of Man Government, landowners, businesses, and conservation partners to put in place the frameworks needed to ensure nature restoration is rewarded and protected for generations to come.
We’re looking for someone with:
✔ Strong knowledge of carbon and nature markets or ecosystem services
✔ Project management and stakeholder engagement skills
✔ Excellent analytical and communication abilities
✔ Enthusiasm for innovation, conservation, and governance
This is a full-time post (37.5 hrs) for 12 months, with flexible hybrid working and office space in Peel. The role will involve occasional evening/weekend events, plus travel within the Isle of Man and to the UK.
