Biodiversity Educator (Part-Time, Fixed Term)

Do you have a passion for nature and enjoy inspiring others to connect with the natural world? Manx Wildlife Trust is seeking a Biodiversity Educator to help deliver engaging environmental education programmes for schools, community groups and public audiences across the Isle of Man.

Working within our Engagement team and line managed by our Education Officer, you will deliver the education plan agreed with the Education Officer. This will include hands-on learning experiences focused on wildlife, biodiversity and conservation, helping people of all ages understand and value the natural environment. The role includes leading school visits, supporting community events, preparing resources, organising session logistics and representing MWT at public engagement activities.

This is a part-time role of 18.75 hours per week, working all day on Thursdays and Fridays, and Wednesday afternoons. Regular evening and weekend work will be required to support events and activities, in line with normal expectations for MWT staff, with time off in lieu provided where appropriate.

The post is based at MWT's Peel headquarters, with frequent travel around the Island. Applicants should have a strong interest in wildlife conservation, excellent communication and organisational skills, and access to their own transport.

This is a fixed-term position for an initial period of one year, subject to ongoing funding and organisational need. Salary is £26,502 per annum pro rata, plus pension and other MWT benefits.

If you enjoy working with people, sharing your enthusiasm for nature and helping to inspire the next generation of conservationists, we'd love to hear from you.

To apply, please submit a CV (2 pages maximum) and cover letter to Dr Carmel Croukamp, Head of Engagement, by end of day Wednesday, 4th of November.
