About the event

Butterflies, marsh flies and a rare centipede,

Langness is a designated ASSI, though it is at the end of the season for most butterflies; if it is mild, we might get lucky and spot a Grayling, Common Blue or brightly coloured Small Copper. The Saltmarsh centipede is one of the rarer species here, along with other saltmarsh specialist flies. We will be checking for grasshoppers in the heathy areas and a recently recorded bush cricket, the Short-winged Conehead, in the salt marsh. So, let’s go out armed with our bug pots to see what we can find.
