Seasearch observer course
About the event
We will be running a Seasearch Observer course through April!
The Seasearch Observer course is the first level of Seasearch course and is aimed at divers and snorkellers that are new to marine recording in British and Irish waters.
At the end of the course you should be able to complete the Seasearch Observation Form and take part in Seasearch dives/snorkels within a group or on your own. It's the perfect way to add some citizen science into your marine hobby!
The theory sessions will run over 4 Thursday evenings, 6:00pm - 9:00pm including a break - 1st, 8th, 15th and 22nd of April and are planned at this time to run over zoom.
The practical session will be the weekend of 24th and 25th April in person, location TBC. (We will rearrange the date if we need to depending on COVID restrictions on Island)
This course is open to snorkellers and divers, however to qualify as a diver you have to have done 50 dives. This isn't a problem though as you can qualify as a snorkeler and then, once you have your 50 dives, proceed as a diver.
If you want to find out more about the observer course or to book contact MWT Marine officer, Dr Lara Howe - Lara@mwt.im
